Work rights & permits
The UK and Ireland have separate immigration systems. Confirm the rule for your passport and occupation before treating a vacancy as a realistic option.
UK Seasonal Worker visa
For eligible horticulture work for up to six months, or poultry work during its defined autumn window. Applicants must be 18+, use an approved sponsor and meet the route requirements.
UK sponsor and funds
The application needs a Certificate of Sponsorship reference. Applicants normally need £1,270 available for 28 consecutive days unless the sponsor certifies initial maintenance.
Other UK work
Hospitality, leisure and general job adverts do not automatically provide sponsorship. Check the visa route and the employer’s sponsorship position before making travel plans.
Ireland: EEA nationals
The employment-permit system is aimed at non-EEA nationals. EEA and Swiss citizens have a different labour-access position, but still need practical registration, tax and payroll arrangements.
Ireland: non-EEA nationals
A valid employment permit or immigration permission that allows work is normally required. Eligibility depends on the occupation, salary, employer and exact permit type.
